Great food and super friendly yet professional staff. Great vibe. We were party of 4 and sat at the bar. Sunday afternoon in late December.

Food was delicious, had skirt steak and mashed potato, the glaze was ridiculous! Owner was super nice , waitress was great!

Our waiter was not the best at her job and I’ll tell you why…. When we were seated she just stared at us and waited for us to order. No greeting or small talk. I get it people don’t like small talk but at least say “hi”or“how are you” if you’re a server. When it was time to pay, she immediately cleared up our table without asking if I was still eating. I had half a piece of French toast and was mid bite when she took my plate! She gave me the check and didn’t say a single word to me or gf. When we finished paying she scoffed, rolled her eyes and walked away with an attitude. Tbh the food was decent it was just the service that made the experience unpleasant. Also side note she was friendly and pleasant with other customers while we’re eating. I mean I don’t know what we did but I know I asked her how was her day and my gf was super polite and friendly. Idk maybe I’m going crazy but yea thanks for coming to my Ted talk

One suggestion - please warm the toast for avocado toast. I was excited to try chilaquiles, but the sauce had pork in it. The eggplant shakshuka had good flavor but the eggplant was not cooked well - it was quite rubbery and uncooked. Also the coffee in cappuccino was pretty acidic and it was served without sugar and stirring spoon. There aren’t too many vegetarian options.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Beginner’s Luck in Scottsdale, and let me tell you—it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish! This charming spot is a must-visit for breakfast and lunch lovers. The food was absolutely delicious, with every bite perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. I had the chilaquiles, and they were hands down some of the best I’ve ever tasted—savory, fresh, and perfectly balanced. (This says a lot being Mexican and restaurant concepts don’t always keep the authenticity and integrity of cultural dishes) My boyfriend got the classic egg and bacon breakfast, and even the simplest dish was elevated with care and quality ingredients. & home fries perfectly cooked not to crisp or soft-& I’m like goldy locks when it comes to food it needs to be just right and it all was!!! Our server, Hannah, was lovely. She was attentive without being overbearing and made us feel welcome throughout our meal. Her warmth truly added to the overall experience. We also had the chance to chat with the general manager, Matt, whose passion for the concept clearly shines through in every detail. It’s no wonder the food and service are top-notch under his leadership. For a brunch experience that combines great food, a relaxed environment, and top-notch service, Beginner’s Luck is a true gem in Scottsdale. Highly recommended! If you’re in Scottsdale, do yourself a favor and stop by. Phenomenal in every way
We walked in on a Sunday around noon and we were seated immediately. We were a group of 6. Our server was so friendly and engaging. Everyone working there was kind and attentive. Couple of my friends got the espresso martini and said it was the best one they had. All the food was so good. Prices are reasonable. The place is very cute and designed very well. Love the outside patio.

Beginners luck is an excellent choice for Scottsdale diners who want to avoid loud more crowded options. Its tucked away in an alcove that will take a little searching to find. But this is part of the charm. You can sit outside in oldtown Scottsdale and not feel like your on the street. The owner has a great history in Phoenix with multiple successful restaurants. They have a small kitchen and prepare from a menu on the smaller side.
Superb service and fresh salmon salad. I struggle to find flaws with this restaurant experience
